Banking Royal Commission News
WARNING: Banking Royal Commission News, if you’re easily offended and outraged by scandal please don’t read this..
“The Banking Royal Commission News Into Misconduct in Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry was Established on 14 December 2017…”
Bank CEOs and their PR teams are out in public today, asking us to believe
they have changed, yet when it comes to key and necessary changes…
Don’t be shocked if you’ve never seen something like this before.
Before we start, one question please:
Do you think risk takers are happier?
Okay here’s where it gets really interesting…
What’s the most dangerous business lie?
Of all the most dangerous lies in business.
None have caused more damage to businesses than…
“You need money to make money.”
While I could talk for days about this topic!
The short answer is, it’s simply NOT true.
And for PROOF, all you gotta do is check out this short story.
I just stumbled across a random video on YouTube…
It was from a young man, who told his impassioned rags to riches story.
He went on and explained how he had made his mega fortune.
You can probably guess the next line…
“Now, I want to help to short cut your journey.
You know, save you from the pain and suffering I went through.
And help you become much more successful…”
STOP…
Sorry get real because in real life that’s not how it works.
Let’s take a moment to think about you and your journey.
How many truly successful people have you ever said the words…
“I became successful because I picked up this amazing formula”…
Or…
“I followed this blueprint”…
Or…
“Someone told me how to do it”?
Have you heard anyone say that?
Ever?
I’ve talked with some of the most successful entrepreneurs on the planet.
And listened to literally hundreds of personal stories.
Explaining in detail exactly how they did it.
And you know what?
They’re all pretty similar in many ways…
“I had this pretty mad idea”.
“I didn’t know what I was doing when I started out”.
“Most people told me I was crazy and it wouldn’t work”.
“I tried. I failed. I tried again. I failed again… many times over”.
“I almost went bankrupt”… or in some cases… “I did go bankrupt”.
“Eventually I found a way that worked.”
The key takeaway to understand is they ALL went through pain…
Look, no-one just stumbled their away.
And took a short-cut in their experience.
They all went through frustrations, struggles and pain.
In my humble opinion this is exactly WHY they are successful.
The struggle is a critical piece of the missing jigsaw puzzle.
It’s tempting to think…
“Oh I can do this the pain-free way”.
However you know from experience and evidence…
It’s not how business or life works.
So, maybe we shouldn’t be looking for ways to avoid challenges.
No short cuts or no avoiding of making of mistakes…
Perhaps we simply learn to make decisions based on failures.
It strengthens character, develops resilience, tenacity…
And ability to reach discomfort zones.
These are what truly successful business owners all seem to do right?
Perhaps we need to find a way to enjoy frustrations, struggles and pain?
NEWSFLASH: Read this top of the hour story to find out more…
During a bank robbery in Melbourne.
The bank robber points his gun and shouts out to everyone in the bank.
“Don’t you move…
The money in this bank belongs to me!
And your life belongs to you.”
Everyone in bank is totally shocked and confused…
Yet they quickly lay face down and without any hesitation surrender quietly.
This is called a pattern interrupt or “mind changing” concept.
And it changes the conventional way of thinking.
Meanwhile…a young lady lays on the table provocatively.
The robber shouts out in disgust, shock and outrage…
“Please, no, no, no, be civilized as this is a robbery and not a rape!”
This is called “being professional”
Be courteous and profession, focus only on what you’re trained to do.
10 minutes later when robbers leave bank with their bounty…
One younger member of group tells older robber.
(Older robber who has barely completed year 6 in primary school)…
“Big brother, I’m really excited we got away with this robbery.
Let’s count how much money we got.”
The older robber thrusts back in disappointment and says…
“You are young and very stupid.
There’s so much money here, it will take us a long time to count it all.
Tonight, the TV news will tell us exactly how much we robbed from the bank!”
This is called “Experience.”
Nowadays, experience holds more value than paper qualifications!
After the robbers had fled and escaped scot free from the bank…
One of the bank managers pointed to bank supervisor to call the police.
The supervisor, smiled from ear to ear and said to the bank manager:
“Wait! Wait! Wait! Hold your horses…
Let us line our pockets and take $10 million from the bank for ourselves.
And this will add another $70 million we previously embezzled from the bank”.
This is called “Swimming with the tide.”
Follow what everyone is doing and do not stand out like a sore thumb.
Then undercover, use the unfavourable situation to unfair advantage.
The supervisor says:
“Wouldn’t it will be great if there was a robbery every month.”
This is called “Killing Boredom.”
Personal happiness is more satisfying than an underpaid job you hate doing.
The next day newspapers, TV news headlines are buzzing with updates…
The latest breaking TV news reports $100 million was taken from the bank.
Meanwhile the robbers are all fired up and counting their stash.
They’re busy counting, counting and recounting…
Yet with bitter astonishment and surprise they could only count $20 million.
The robbers were somewhat dismayed “pissed off” and very angry…
They were in a meltdown of fury screaming with vengeance and complaints.
“We risked our bloody lives and only scored $20 million.
The bank manager took $80 million with just a snap of his fingers.
It is far better in this world to get an education than to be a thief!”
This is called “Knowledge.”
And knowledge if used in a powerful way is worth much more than gold.
Obviously. bank manager was grinning and smiling all the way to the bank…
Of course, when asked by a reporter what happened, he arrogantly said:
“We’re investigating and will update our security.”
Why was the bank manager excited and happy?
Because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery.
This is called “Seizing the opportunity.”
You see, at royal commission it’s not that much different…
Is it business as usual?
When one of Australia’s big four banks reveals a bold new plan…
And a cunning solution to stop problem gamblers…
You just foolishly have to nod your head in disbelief and ask:
“WTF…what is the moral and ethics of this enlightened story?
If any ambitious bank executive can succeed…
And despite the fact he can be his own worst enemy.
After a series of self-destructive choices to a very public…
And humiliating nervous Banking Royal Commission News breakdown.
If someone is daring and arrogant enough to take on risks this has its reward.
What’s the best explanation of this apparent gap between high-achievers?
And those who never get close to their dream…
Maybe it was explained in an episode of “Ballers”.
The show Ballers is when success hits hard.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars in this series…
A retired football superstar trying to reinvent himself as a financial manager.
His character chats with business partner about going after big things in life.
He goes on to tell a story about his old man…
Who met his boss after years of working for him.
And he came to the conclusion after chatting with this guy.
That he wasn’t all that different from him…
“We’re all just guys”, was the line he used.
Now, in many ways it’s completely true.
And from all the conversations I’ve had with high performers and achievers.
I could narrow it down to one characteristic.
We all possess what others don’t.
Hand on, that wouldn’t necessarily be true.
You see, most are awesome with a strong ability to focus for longer…
Yes, absolutely they’re better at focusing than most people.
And that’s because they work on it, practice and choose to be.
We can all focus, it’s a choice we can make right?
We can either strengthen our ability to focus or not to.
High performers and achievers focus and stick to one single path.
They’re not afraid to work harder and smarter while they’re on the path.
Again, this is so easily something we can all do…
Some are natural leaders, yet not all.
Some have build up their confidence, others lack it completely.
And some believe we belong in certain places, others don’t.
Some believe they deserve or can achieve success, others don’t.
What I do know is you want to become a mind changer…
Because you want to give yourself every opportunity to win.
Fear and laziness has never won anyone anything.
If you’re constantly deviating from the path you’ve set yourself…
The journey to success will most likely be tougher and out of reach.
Quitting only guarantees failure.
No matter where you are and what you’ve done up to this point.
There is always new opportunities to improve and do better.
If you choose to get out of your daily comfort zone…
If you’re down, get up, dust yourself off, make no excuses.
Simply see challenges in business and life for what they are.
Be grateful, relish in continual progress, enjoy the struggle, get through it all.
Keep going and moving forwards.
You won’t always get what you deserve, but you’ll often get what you ask for…
